2003 Tenuta Farneta Bongoverno Toscana IGT
100% Sangiovese — Chianti Colli Senesi in Italy
An Italian word meaning “good government” Bongoverno is the name of our latest Wine of the Month. The clarity of the 100% Sangiovese in its boldest form rendered from a single block of uniquely situated vines next to the villa. Sultry aromas of jammy blackberry and cherry pipe tobacco rise from the glass. Opaque violet color and a huge palate of black fruits and smoky oak. Powerful in youth, elegant and voluptuous with age.
A Taste of Milan on Chestnut Street
Le Castagne Ristorante features creative Northern Italian cuisine including modern and original interpretations of handmade pastas, seafood, veal and other traditional dishes that maximize the fresh ingredients of the season. More than a tip of the hat to our address, the name Le Castagne-chestnuts in Italian-honors one of the most important products of Northern Italy. The name also highlights a common thread between Philadelphia and Italy; for once the streets of this city were lined with the solemn trees that lend Chestnut Street its name.
The Sena family is pleased to expand and continue its 37-year tradition of dining excellence in Philadelphia. We invite you and your family to join us for a memorable dining experience.

I recently had the pleasure of having dinner with some old friends at Le Castagne a few weeks ago. The atmosphere was great, perfect for catching up, not to mention it was nice to be waited on by a professional that knew the menu and was able to offer suggestions. I chose a ziti dish and was very pleased… I’m not ashamed to say I took the leftovers home and indulged again the next day. We chose the Coppola Pinot Noir, and the fact that we were able to polish off 3 bottles proves it was the right choice. I highly recommend the homemade gelato, it was refreshing & delicious… 3 weeks later & my mouth is still watering. Over all great experience & I will definitely be back for more. A+++ — Tara Pasca
